Community: We all play a part.
At da Vinci, our community has been our most successful asset for 14 years. The high school has a student body of approximately 130 students, while the primary school houses approximately 150. Within this small community lies a surprisingly diverse group of people. We celebrate this diversity and the unique attributes of each student in a variety of ways. Town meeting allows us to stay up-to-date on activities and achievements. Friday breakfast gives everyone an opportunity to relax and talk over food. Yearly celebrations such as spirit week and our Thanksgiving feast give us big reminders of the importance of community, while occasional field trips provide opportunities for smaller communal interactions. Families become a part of our community through Family Fun Night and family picnics. And finally, our Advisory is used to connect with students through journals, games, team building, goal setting, character education, and life and study skills. We know that every student has the ability to learn and that each student learns in a different way. We recognize that learning is easy for some, and more difficult and challenging for others. The size and strength of our community makes it possible to treat each student individually and do whatever it takes to help each student be successful.
